Patricia Applegate

In 2007 we honored Patricia Applegate who battled colon cancer for several years before succumbing to the disease on April 27, 2006. A mother and grandmother to many St. John’s and Pennsbury players, Patricia’s family were founding members of St. John’s parish. On behalf of the Applegate family, son Blaine gave a touching and memorable speech about the wonderful, loving and vibrant woman his mom was. That year the 4-day event raised $18,000.  Prior to her death, Blaine also started the hugely successful Falcon Foundation which held a two-man sports competition in large part inspired by Pat and the dignity and class in which she battled her disease. The annual event raised cumulatively over $200,000 for cancer research.
